Director of Architecture (Dallas), Associate Partner

Sam Watkins is a seasoned architect and project leader with more than 19 years of experience on a wide variety of project types through planning, design, construction, and occupancy. This range of projects demonstrates an ability to adapt to challenging building types, budgets, schedules, and complex team environments. He has worked as an advocate for the environment at the local and state level, serving as AIA Dallas COTE co-chair and on the TxA Sustainable Communities Committee, and he seeks to be an agent for change in the profession by looking outside disciplinary boundaries as a graduate of Leadership Richardson, a member of the Richardson Environmental Advisory Commission, and instituting a community-focused sustainability recognition program for AIA Dallas. Sam obtained his Bachelor of Architecture degree at Auburn University where he participated in the Rural Studio, and more recently, he completed a research-focused master’s degree in interdisciplinary design at the University of Cambridge.
